Global view of Gamone

This amusing photo of the Gamone valley, taken a few days ago from the other side of the Bourne, reveals that I'm not exactly hemmed in by neighbors. To the left of the blue circle, the relatively bare zone that slopes gently upwards to the crest is the paddock of my donkeys Moshé and Mandrin.

  1. Looks like a damn near perfect location to me.

  2. It's a perfect location for dogs, donkeys and various kinds of wild animals, accustomed to leading a solitary existence in the woods... such as Dawkinsian hermits. For more refined creatures, it can be a rather rude environment at times. Let's say that, whichever way you look at it, Choranche is a rather special place.
