The white coral of Australia’s
Great Barrier Reef will never be revived. That’s the sad conclusion of a study carried out by researchers from Australia's
James Cook University. The whitening has been caused by an increase in the ocean’s temperature. Since the marine creatures didn’t die immediately, there was always a chance that they would survive; but the pale coral, having suffered these bleaching effects for two years, seems to have gone beyond the point of no return.
